I decided to try out the audible trial where you get two books free the first month and then one book a month for $14.95.
I'm doing a Historical Romance Readathon this month, so I've decided to try out Lisa Kleypas, because I've been wanting to check out her books for awhile now. I'm having a lot of fun venturing out of my comfort zone with audio books, and am finding them very convenient.

ReplyDeleteHope you hve a fabulous weekend!
Thanks Greg. You too!
DeleteWelcome to the wonderful world of audiobooks. I am 50% audiobook on all my reads now. I love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! I can see getting to 50% with audio.
DeleteI rarely read audiobooks and that is on my lack of focus. I tend to drift off as I am listening and doing other chores. But I actually wish, so that I would make a dent on my TBR someday.
ReplyDeleteGayathri @ Elgee Writes
They do help with making a dent in your TBR, but I understand the drifting off. I found reading along with the audiobook helped me focus more at the beginning. Now I can just listen with no problem.
DeleteI have never read a Kleypas book, but she seems to be very loved. I don't tend towards historicals, so maybe that's why. I will also take more chances with audiobooks, since I have different slices of time dedicated to them, but I don't pay for them either. They are all from the library.
ReplyDeleteI have been renting from my cloud library too, and was really surprised to see what a good selection they have!
Deletei am going through my stacks of 'stuff' an will be adding the physical audiobooks to my tbr soon. i am still trying to get the hang of them, but i think with summer coming and so much to do outdoors, i hope to spends more time getting in the swing of it

I can't wait to see what audiobooks you have Sherry! I agree, it would be very convenient when you're outside gardening or working in the yard.
DeleteI've really gotten into audible books this past year. I love the convenience. I haven't tried Audible yet though; I mainly just rely on my library. The free trial sounds tempting though.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a lot of fun with it, and if you don't like the book you pick, you can exchange it easily :)
DeleteI just cannot concentrate on an audiobook. I've tried a couple of times and because I can read a 200 page book in less than 2 hours I find it too time consuming to listen to one.
ReplyDeleteI've struggled in the past on concentrating too Mary, and if I listen at night when I'm too tired, I fall asleep. That being said, they are really convenient when I need to do dishes, laundry, am in the car, and can't read the book myself.
DeleteI've taken to audiobooks in the car and they make quite the difference to the commute. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your historical reads!
Yes, they are a great source of entertainment during a commute. Thanks Nicci :)
DeleteI hope you enjoy your audio sub and the books that come with it!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Stacy Renee @ LazyDayLit
Thanks Stacy!
DeleteI read 'The One' fantastic stuff. In general I love novels with evil and manipulating characters, but I'll pick up an array of good books.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it, and can't wait to see the movie on Netflix.
DeleteI started audiobooks in 2015 when I was packing and moving from MN to NC. I got CDs from the library! Now it's all digital and audio is 50% or more of my reading. It's just great for doing at the same time as something else. You get used to working it into every aspect of your life eventually. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
They are so convenient, that I'm finding myself binge listening to one book after another!
Deleteoh wow....a readathon with Lisa Kleypas? You will LOVE her books. She has always been one of my all time favorites to read.
ReplyDeleteI'm LOVING her books. I'm reading her Ravenels and Wallflowers books right now :)
DeleteOmg! I love The Ravenels series by Kleypas! The audios just enhance the story because Mary Jane Wells is such an excellent narrator. Enjoy, Lindy! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! I'm really enjoying Mary Jane Wells' narrating :)
DeleteI enjoy audibles. But some of them can be very long. LOL I plan on listening to a few this week as I have some time off from work and will be cleaning the house.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your days of Laura :)
