“Iris?” August’s frown, the concern on his face, in his voice, remind me where I am.
“Baby, you okay?”
I blink down at him dumbly, swallowing my tears, eating my memories whole and digesting a nightmare from long ago. I nod, my lips a cold, wobbly curve.
“Kiss me,” he whispers, his eyes so tender, so intent. I remember a magical night under the stars, under a streetlight on the eve of greatness. A night filled with laughter and confidences, pregnant with promise. And I see him so clearly, my prince, asking for a kiss.

Whenever I read a book written by Kennedy Ryan, I know without a doubt that it will make me feel all kinds of emotions. Her writing style is sublime and her characters are unforgettable! Long Shot is a standalone Basketball Romance from the Hoops Series. In this book, we meet August West and Iris DuPree. Believe me when I say that these two characters will own a piece of your heart from the moment you meet them!

This was such an unforgettable love story. From the moment Iris and August were introduced in the story, I was cheering for them to find the HEA that they both deserved. Life has thrown obstacles their way non-stop and to see their love bloom in the middle of a storm was both mesmerizing and heart-breaking. They felt a connection on that first night that they met and it never stopped growing. I love how much they complete each other and lift each other up in the most beautiful way. Iris is a warrior that will leave you cheering for her from beginning to end and August is a protective hero that will melt your heart!
Prepare a box of tissues because this story will bring you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. You will cry and cheer for Iris and August. Their love story will linger with you for days. I loved all the supporting cast of characters in this story. I'm really excited that there will be another addition to this series following a completely different couple. That also means that we get to reunite with Iris and August again. Woohoo!!! If you have not read a book by Kennedy Ryan, you're seriously mission out! I highly recommend Long Shot.
