If you’re a fan of second-chance romance, you will absolutely love Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward. From the moment that the author revealed her cover and blurb, I have been anxiously waiting to read Mack and Frankie’s story. I always expect an unforgettable reading journey when I read one of Penelope Ward’s books and Mack Daddy did not disappoint!
The last person Frankie O’Hara expected to see in her class is Mack Morrison. He’s a blast from her past that she can’t forget. It only took one moment and a single whisper of his voice to unleash a chaotic hurricane of emotions. He’s the single dad everybody is talking about. Years have passed, but the connection between Frankie and Mack is stronger than ever. Mack is back and he will do whatever it takes to fight for Frankie. He let her go once and that was the biggest mistake of his life. In his life, is where she belongs.
Penelope Ward’s writing style captivated me from the very beginning. This story was filled with sexy, tender, emotional and fun moments. Frankie and Mack were a unique couple that shared a strong connection. I could feel their love for each other growing each time they shared a special moment together. It was not an easy journey for them. They both had their own personal obstacles to overcome. Mack came back into Frankie’s life when she least expected it. From the moment he came back, he completely turned her calm world upside down.
Mack was determined to get his girl and he was going to do everything in his power to win her heart. He was fierce in his battle and he made her understand that she’s the only one who could make him happy. My heart broke for Mack in many occasions during my reading journey. It was so difficult to see him finally achieve his ultimate goal in life and then take two steps back.
Frankie had difficult decisions to make as well. Mack came back for her and it completely took her by surprise. Her feelings for him are stronger than ever and she can’t deny that next to him is where she belongs. I loved that the author took the time to write chapters about their past together. I rather read about their past than just have a small recap of what happened told from the characters POV.
