Casanova, by Emma Hart, is the first book I read by this author. I have heard amazing things about her books and I’m so happy that I finally got the chance to read her work. Casanova was a great second chance at love romance that left me with a smile on my face. From the captivating writing style to the fantastic characters, this book was everything that I expected from a fun contemporary romance. It was a great reading escape!
Going back to the place where you got your heart broken is never easy. Lani knows this all too well. After 8 years away, she’s back in her hometown and near the people she left behind. Many things have changed, but her emotional scars still linger when she comes face-to-face with Brett Walker. Brett was Lani’s best friend until one day everything between them changed. A proposition coming from the Walker clan keeps Lani in town. Her job? Clean up Brett's bad boy reputation. As days go by, Lani discovers that the man she fell in love with all those years ago is still present. He’s just hiding behind his bad boy ways. Will Lani be able to clean up his reputation and give their love story a second chance?
This was an enjoyable reading journey. Lani and Brett had an awesome chemistry and their banter made me laugh many times. I have to admit that it took me a few chapters to find my connection to the characters and the story. I had an easier time connecting with Lani. I finally connected with Brett a little later in the story, but that did not take anything away from my reading journey. The more I read their story, the more I wanted them to get their HEA.
This book had a great cast of supporting characters. I really loved Camille, which is Brett’s sister. She’s a fun, loving and captivating character. I really enjoyed my reading escape and will without a doubt read Emma Hart’s previous books. I have a lot of catching up to do!

About the Author:
By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies - usually wine - and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
