Next to Never was a phenomenal novella! What a great addition to the Fall Away Series! Penelope Douglas is a gifted and extremely talented story teller. I fall completely in to her stories, and never want them to end. They are the perfect reading escape!
Next to Never brought me another chance to experience some of my favorite fictional characters. It was such a treat getting reacquainted with Jared, Tate, Madoc, Fallon, Jax, and Juliet. I also got to know their children, and am really looking forward to each of their stories.
In Next to Never, we get to know Quinn (Jared, Madoc, and Jax's younger sister.) Quinn fantasizes about Lucas, her brothers friend. She hasn't seen Lucas in years, but hopes for the day when he will return. One day a book arrives in the mail with no return address. Quinn is reluctant to read it, because it is a romance, and she doesn't enjoy that genre. However, when her niece Dylan, begins to read aloud, she becomes drawn in. The story begins to take an interesting twist, when family secrets begin to come to light.
Next to Never hooked me! What an incredible story! I highly recommend this novella to fans of the Fall Away Series.

Next to Never is an addition to the Fall Away Series that you do not want to miss! This book, in my opinion, is the biggest gift Penelope Douglas could give her fans. So many people around the world have fallen in love with this series and this feels like the answers to our prayers have been answered. We wanted more of the Fall Away crew and Penelope Douglas delivers.
At first glance, you may think that this is Quinn’s book. It’s not. This is a book were the past and present collide. A book where secrets are revealed and family bonds are tested. This book will change Quinn’s life in a way she never expected. Once secrets are revealed, Quinn is determined to set her foot down and do what makes her happy. Her family has been keeping her safe until now. Quinn is ready to take risks and she will do it with or without their approval.
I was ecstatic when I heard that Penelope Douglas was writing Next to Never. The Fall Away Crew are my favorite characters from Book Town. Penelope Douglas is an auto-buy author for me. Her stories always deliver all the feels and make me escape to a world where I want to live in. Penelope Douglas exceeded all of my expectations with this book.
It was fascinating to see Quinn interact with the old and new generation. I really loved the chapters devoted to the mysterious book. It was interesting to go back in time and see what happened in the past. This book made me even more excited for Lucas and Quinn’s book. These two are owning my heart right now. Jared and Tate are my favorite couple from this series, but I have a feeling that Lucas and Quinn will without a doubt share or even steal the #1 spot in my heart.
