“It’s for you.” He extended the phone, but it might as well
have been a bomb.
“Um…”
“Take it,” he demanded through clenched teeth.
“Why?”
He snatched the phone back and stabbed the screen. “You’re
on speaker,” he informed. There was nothing but silence while my heart pounded in my chest.
“Tsk. Tsk.”
So much for lucky breaks.
“Ever the disobedient one…” I felt my blood drain when I
recognized the refined voice. It was deeper now–stronger.
“Even when you’re in my house uninvited.”
“You have something that belongs to me.”
“You expect me to believe that?”
I shrugged to hide the tremble, but then remembered he couldn’t see me. “Believe what you want.”
“There are consequences to bad decisions.”
“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.”
“But your father would, wouldn’t he?”
I sucked in a breath and tried to talk myself out of being afraid. There was no way he could know my father had anything to do with this. “My father is none of your concern.”
“Wasn’t it your father who sent you?” I didn’t answer that. I wouldn’t. “If you won’t answer, maybe I should ask him myself.”
“No!” His silence shattered my armor. “My father didn’t send me.” My voice begged him to believe me. It was only half the truth. If he had a choice, I wouldn’t be here, but I gave him none.
I waited, but only silence followed. I looked to his two henchmen who listened to our exchange with curiosity and confusion etched on their perfect faces. “I’ll see you soon.” He didn’t say more. The line disconnected, and I was left feeling as if fainting would erase everything that just happened.

Get ready for an unforgettable reading escape! The Bandit, which is book one of The Stolen Duet, is without a doubt one of the most thrilling stories that I have read in 2016. B.B. Reid always knows how to write stories that will captivate you from page one. The chemistry between her characters is always incredibly intoxicating and the twists and turns that she always writes leave you begging for more!
Life was not supposed to turn out this way. Mian’s world turned upside down the day her dad ended up in prison. Things have not been easy for her. She’s broke, a single mom and she’s about to cross a line that will forever change her life. Angel Knight never forgot Mian Ross. She comes back into his life unexpectedly and he’s about to teach her that you don’t mess with a Knight. Revenge is about to get ugly.
This was an unputdownable story. From the first page to the last, B.B. Reid transports us to this wickedly delicious world that she created. A world where secrets, betrayals and passion collide. This story is filled with intense, steamy, emotional and intriguing moments. You won’t be able to resist Angel’s charisma and Mian’s confident and strong personality. The chemistry between these two is extremely hot. Tensions run high when they are in the same room. You can feel the passion between them and how bad they want each other. They are both stubborn and passionate individuals and will do whatever it takes to get what they want.
I loved that the author wrote flashbacks and gave us an inside scoop on what happened between Mian and Angel. It made it easier for me to connect with them and their story. I also loved all of the supporting characters. They each had a specific role to play in Mian and Angel’s story. I absolutely fell in love with Z. He’s such an intense and intriguing character. I can’t get enough of him! I’m crossing my fingers that he will eventually get his own book. This was such a crazy roller coaster ride of emotions. I can’t believe that ending!!! It was FANTABULOUS!!! I can’t wait to read the rest of this story.
