Quinn
is the first installment from J.C. Cliff’s Undaunted Men Series. This
is my first time reading a book by this author. Before I started reading
this book, I knew that it was going to end in a cliffhanger, so I was
expecting that kind of ending. I’m not a big fan of cliffhangers so I
was happy to have the second part of Alexis and Quinn’s story available; so that I could continue my reading journey.
The Undaunted Men Series starts with two books about Alexis and Quinn. Alexis is a mafia princess on the run and Quinn is the person her father chose to bring her back safe and sound. Quinn’s mission was pretty simple. Locate Alexis and bring her back home. There is only one problem ... He’s not ready to let her go yet. She has captivated him from the moment that they meet and he wants to spend as much time as he can with her. Alexis is confused by her growing feelings toward a stranger. It only took Quinn a couple of days to get under her skin. He’s a stranger, but he’s also the one who is keeping her safe from the people she’s running away from. What will happen once they both reveal the secrets that they are keeping?
I enjoyed my reading escape. It was an easy story to follow and it had passionate and intense moments. I have to admit that I did not connect with Quinn until very late in the book. I know insta-love happens in books, but I had a hard time believing he changed his playboy ways in just a few days. Even if it was difficult for me to connect with Quinn’s character, it didn't take anything away from the story that the author wrote for these two characters. It kept my attention from beginning to end. Can I just add that Kimber, which is Quinn’s dog, stole the show in many scenes. It was like she was a part of the story and I absolutely loved that!
This first installment is more about how Alexis and Quinn’s relationship grows and how Quinn is trying to keep Alexis safe. The chemistry between Alexis and Quinn is hot! You can feel the sexual tension growing from chapter to chapter. Alexis is trying hard to resist her attraction to Quinn, but it’s hard to resist him. Both of them are keeping secrets from each other and towards the end we can feel that things are about to get crazy intense. I’m looking forward to the conclusion of this story and the secrets that will be revealed.

Review:
This second installment of the Undaunted Men Series picks up exactly where the first part ended. I was happy I already had the next installment, because I really needed some answers when it came to the mystery that caused Alexis to run away from home. This book was more fast-paced than the first installment. In the first book we really got to see how Alexis and Quinn grew closer and created a bond.
Alexis is on the run once again. Quinn has been keeping secrets from her and she has made the decision that it’s time for her to continue her journey by herself. Quinn has other plans. The more Alexis runs away from him, the more he’s determined to find her and keep her by his side. Only next to him will she be safe from the people who want to hurt her. Danger is near and when secrets are exposed, Alexis and Quinn will have to trust each other and fight with everything that they’ve got if they want their relationship to survive.
When I read the first part of Alexis and Quinn’s story, I had a really difficult time connecting with Quinn. With this book, it was not the case. I found that connection that I was looking for in the first book. I could really see that he loved Alexis with all his heart and soul and I saw him in a totally different light. They both said hurtful things to each other and that broke my heart. Some scenes were really difficult to read as Alexis returned to the world that made her run in the first place. Alexis and Quinn’s world came crashing down when they returned to their daily life. I expected twists in this story and the author delivered. I got the answers to my questions and some explosive secrets were revealed.
J.C. Cliff wrote a great conclusion to Alexis and Quinn’s story. The chemistry between the characters did not change and that is very important when authors write multiple books about the same characters. We got introduced to other characters that made this story come alive. This book can't be read as a standalone. You have to read the first book to follow this story.
