GR's Summary:
Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.
Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?
Lindy's Thoughts:
Dirty is the first book that I've read by Kylie Scott, and I really enjoyed it! Talk about a fun, hilarious, sexy, and entertaining story! I am looking forward to reading more by Ms. Scott. Her style of writing reminds me of a combination of Kristen Ashley (as far as the casual and matter of fact conversation style of the main characters,) as well as Alice Clayton's style of bawdy humor. Dirty was a delight to read, and I believe that many fans of romance will be enraptured by Ms. Scott's writing style.
Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar Series, and is Lydia Green and Vaughn Hewson's story. Lydia's wedding day is a disaster when she learns that her fiancee has been cheating on her; by having a secret affair with his best man. She panics after she views an anonymous video sent to her cell phone, by escaping the premises, and climbing a very high wall. She ends up retreating to a bungalow that she thinks is deserted. However, it is the home of Vaughn Hewson.
Vaughn has been pursuing his dream as a musician, but things aren't working out as he had hoped. So he returns to his small town as a temporary stop to take care of the selling of his deceased parents home. However, he ends up finding the runaway bride sulking in his bathtub. Vaughn is attracted to Lydia and feels bad for her horrible situation. He offers her a temporary place to stay with him, while he settles his business. As attraction bubbles between Lydia and Vaughn, they agree to a no-strings-attached fling. However, Lydia finds herself getting attached to Vaughn's friends and family, and falling for Vaughn himself. Is she doomed for another heartbreak?
While Dirty is a standalone, it referenced the band Stage Dive, and we got a very entertaining visit from the drummer, Mal. Even though I haven't read the Stage Dive Series, I wasn't lost one bit. I think fans of Stage Dive will enjoy the connection between the two series. One things is for certain, I really want to go back and read the Stage Dive Series for myself. Mal was hilarious!!! I loved all of the prominent characters in Dirty, and hope they each get their own story. My favorite secondary character was Vaughn's sister Nellie, and I can't wait to see how things work out in her very complicated love life!
I love how real and authentic Lydia was. She's described as a woman with curves, who could be a plus size model. The way she acted and spoke, depicted her as an ordinary woman with a huge heart. Vaughn saw her beauty, and loved her the way she was. As women, we always are the first ones to see our perceived flaws. It was inspirational reading about a real woman finding love and happiness. Vaughn was fun, sexy, and a bit raunchy in a good way! He knew how to turn Lydia on, and was all about giving her pleasure. This story was a very fast read. If you are in the mood to escape into a sexy, fun, and humorous adventure, I recommend you get your hands on Dirty!!!
My Rating:
I give, Dirty by Kylie Scott, 4 'Crazy at First Sight,' Tantalizing Passions, Fun, and Laugh Aloud Stars!!!
Mikki's Review:
Dirty was my first book by Kylie Scott. I have heard amazing things about her Stage Dive Series. My book besties have been telling me to read that series for a long time. Too many books so little time! I’m definitely bumping that series at the top of my TBR list after reading Dirty. I had such a fun time meeting these characters and falling in love with Kylie Scott’s wonderful writing style. If like me you have not read any of her books, Dirty is the perfect book to start with.
Bride on the run meets sexy ex-rockstar in Kylie Scott’s first installment of the Dive Bar Series. Lydia Green is on the run. She found out her engagement to her fiancĂ© was all a joke. He’s been cheating on her and to top it all off, his best man holds the key to his heart. Heartbroken and alone, this is how Lydia feels. Until Vaughan Hewson enters her life. Their first encounter is memorable and their attraction is undeniable. As days go by, Lydia and Vaughan grow closer together and live in the moment. What happens when decisions have to be made and what you thought you really wanted isn’t at all what you really need?
Lydia and Vaughan are simply irresistible! Their banter was great and the chemistry blazing hot! From the moment that they met, they had a connection. It was crazy at first sight! I loved that both these characters helped each other with their personal struggles. Lydia had a lot of things to figure out after she discovered that her fiancé cheated on her and that he was gay. On his side, Vaughan needed to find a place to call home. Since his parents died, he never felt the same about the home he grew up in. His music career was also something he needed to think about. He never expected to find Lydia and that she would turn his world upside down. Both characters are so easy to relate to. I can see myself hanging out with them and their group of friends. This is a part of book town I would visit over and over again!
I loved all the secondary characters in this book. I can’t wait to see what the author has planned for them! They are a great cast of characters who make you want more of them. There are some pretty interesting things going on between some of these characters and I really hope that the author writes a book for all of them. Don’t worry if you have not read the Stage Dive Series, this book can be read as a standalone. I have to admit that after a certain character from the Stage Dive Series made an appearance in this book, it left me wanting to read his story ASAP. This character sure knows how to steal the show! ;) Fantastic beginning to a new series that will melt hearts and panties all over book town.

I give, Dirty, by Kylie Scott, 4 sexy, fun, bride-on-the-run, stop-with-the-babe-calling, I'm-crazy-about-you-are-you-crazy-about-me stars!
Kylie is a long time fan of erotic love stories and B-grade horror films. She demands a happy ending and if blood and carnage occur along the way then all the better. Based in Queensland, Australia with her two children and one delightful husband, she reads, writes and never dithers around on the internet.
Kylie is represented by Amy Tannenbaum at the Jane Rotrosen Agency, New York.
