Excerpt:
“I’m going to remember this as the worst time in my entire life. The very worst.” She shook her head. “There is nothing I can do to change that. Girls my age are playing sports, going to dances and parties, kissing boys. And that’s never been me. I’ve had a full time job at the grove and a part time job at the Stop-N-Shop. I’ve done nothing over the last few years except work my ass off and watch my family fall apart. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse…now all this.” She waived around to the house and to me and let out an awkward laugh. She took another hit off the bowl, passing it back to me. Her coughing much less than it was on her first try.
“Ti, how old are you?” I asked, clearing my throat as I ventured into territory I knew I shouldn’t. She was a pistol, even if she was a sad one, but there was a wave of innocence about her that had me both feeling bad for her and salivating for a taste of her.
This is for her, not you. I told myself. It was only a partial lie.
“Seventeen,” She said, sniffling. “Eighteen soon.”
“You ever been kissed?” I asked, her eyes met mine. “And not a peck on the cheek or a brief smack of the lips, but a real fucking kiss? One that leaves you without air in you lungs and your thighs pressing together in search of more?” I said, my voice coming out deep and strained. My cock coming alive at the thought of tracing my tongue along her pump lips.
“Why?” She whispered, and as soon as the words left her mouth I knew there would be no coming back from what I was about to do.
I pushed off the fire pit and pulled her up off the chair, pressing her tits into my chest and my straining cock against her stomach. I tipped her chin up and looked into her confused emerald greens. She followed my thumb with her eyes as I traced her bottom lip. There were too many lines marring her face, questioning what it was I was up to. I knew she would try to pull away at any second, try to stop me. But it was too late for that.
I was beyond stopping.
Just one taste.
“Answer the question,” I pressed.
“No,” she said with a slight shake of her head, and before she could try to argue, I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers.
I was already going to hell.
Might as well enjoy the ride there.

I don't read dark romance very often, but when I do I turn to my book besties for recommendations. One of the names that always comes up is T.M. Frazier. I have never read anything by this author so I really did not know what to expect of the King Series. I was told that it was preferable to read King and Tyrant before reading Lawless and I agree. You definitely want to read the two previous books in this series. You do not want to miss Doe and King's captivating story! I read King, Tyrant and Lawless back-to-back and I have the biggest book hangover!! Such a twisted, dark, passionate and unforgettable reading journey!
Lawless is Thia and Bear's book. We meet Bear in the two previous installments. I loved Bear from the very beginning and I was excited to read his story and meet the girl that would steal his heart. If you have read King and Tyrant you know a bit of what happened to Bear. I won't go into details of what happened to him because I don't want to give out spoilers. What I will tell you is that Bear is lost. He has no clue where he's going in life until Thia walks back into his life. Thia has nowhere to go. She finds herself in an unexpected situation and the only person that could help her is Bear. A promise made many years ago brought her back into his life, but will he be able to keep his promise and help Thia?
When I started reading these books, I did not know what to expect. After I read King and Tyrant, I had my expectations set high for Lawless. I wanted to know every single detail of Bear's life. T.M. Frazier did an amazing job at bringing these characters and story to life! I felt like I was a part of their journey from beginning to end. I was at the edge of my seat and could not wait to see what would happen next.
OMG!!! Bear!!! What a character!!! We really get to know what happened to Bear and what made him leave his MC. I kind of had an idea of what happened, but reading it totally broke my heart. He suffered so much and I could totally understand why he was so lost and broken. Thia coming back into his life was like a healing balm. She made him feel things he's never felt before and he wanted to protect her at any cost.
Thia was a great character. She completes Bear perfectly and together they overcame many obstacles. I loved how she was able to make him open up about his past. She was a very quiet character at the beginning of the story (because of what happened to her), but she gained a lot of confidence throughout the story. She was a different person by the end of the book. The chemistry between these two character was believable and hot! T.M. Frazier sure knows how to write those steamy scenes!! I have to admit that my favorite part of the book was when they met for the first time. You could already feel the connection between them.
I'm so happy that I finally read this series. It was everything that my book besties told me it would be. If you are looking for a dark romance series that will leave you breathless and at the edge of your seat .... The King Series is exactly what you are looking for! You don't want to miss it! This book ends in a major cliffhanger. I'm kind of nervous to see what is going to happen next! The only thing I know is that I cannot wait to reunite with all these amazing characters. T.M. Frazier's writing style is absolutely captivating!
Rating:
I give Lawless, by T.M. Frazier, 4.5 twisted, dark, provocative, heart-pumping stars!
T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier resides in sunny Southwest Florida with her husband and three feisty fur kids.
She attended Florida Gulf Coast University where she specialized in public speaking. After years working in real estate and new home construction, she decided it was finally time to stop pushing her dreams to the back burner and pursue writing seriously.

It only took her twenty years to start the next one. It will not be about hamsters.
