GR's Summary:
Some loves will last ’til your dying breath
Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust.
Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.
Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…

My Thoughts:
Every Last Breath was the conclusion to The Dark Elements Series. Reading this story was bittersweet for me, and I took my time as I savored the end of one of my favorite series.' This series has been epic, and the conclusion was everything that I had hoped for and more.
The Lilin (a powerful demon) is on the loose, taking the souls of individuals, creating dangerous wraiths (paranormal creatures like ghosts,) and threatening the world with the likely possibility of an apocalypse. Layla, Roth, Zayne, and the wardens band together to try to find a way to take down this powerful creature. Unfortunately, the Lilin has already taken Layla's good friend, Sam's soul, along with many others. The clock is ticking, and if the Lilin isn't killed soon, all of the souls that it has captured will be no more.
However, Layla soon learns that there is no easy solution to this catastrophic predicament. Meanwhile, she also has to decide between the two men that love her, Roth and Zayne, which will result in her breaking the heart of the man that she doesn't choose. What will Layla do?
Every Last Breath was a fast-paced conclusion! It was chock full of action, suspense, plot-twists, secrets revealed, questions answered, abundant passion, and an epic love story. We also get Roth's signature snark and humor, Zayne's sweet and loyal nature, moments of fun and light heartedness, as well as moments of pain-filled angst, and deep emotion.
