My Thoughts:

I've missed the magical realm of Creepy Hollow, but it is a place that once visited, you could never forget.  The setting is a place full of wonderment, beautiful bright colors, and fantastical creatures.  The fae are who lie at the heart of this series.  Specifically, guardians, those that go through rigorous, lengthy, and extensive training to serve and protect.

Calla wants to be a faerie guardian more than anything else.  Her father use to be one, and her older half brother, Ryn, is one of the most talented and skilled members of the Creepy Hollow Guild.  However, Calla's mother worries about her daughter's safety and has forbidden it.  Therefore, Calla trains behind her parent's back with an ex-member of the guild.  However, it's not the same as getting to train in an official capacity and become a guardian.

Unfortunately, a dangerous intruder breaks into Calla's home and tries to harm her.  When Calla mentions the name of the person the intruder said sent them, Calla's mother becomes pale, and quickly changes her mind about Calla's training to be a guardian with the guild.  It becomes obvious that Calla's mother is hiding a secret.  As Calla begins her official training with the guild, she deals with jealousy, bullies, and training that tests her limits.  She also makes friends with a group of other outcasts.  Calla ends up stumbling on a rare and priceless item that enables time travel and introduces her to the mysterious and handsome, Chase.  They end up finding themselves on a thrilling, suspenseful, action-packed adventure full of danger and revelations.

I loved A Faerie's Secret.  I was excited to be reunited with Calla, and see how she's grown up.  It was such a pleasure being reunited with Ryn and Vi from the previous Creepy Hollow segments, and even though they are secondary characters, they were still actively involved in the story.

Chase was a character that I was drawn to.  He had a lot of magical ability and know how.  He was very protective of Calla and was an excellent partner to have on her adventure.  I loved his personality.  He was very charismatic, and I could see why Calla started to develop feelings for him.  The chemistry and friendship between Chase and Calla grew beautifully!

The mysterious and thrilling on the edge of your seat action packed suspense, had me flipping pages as fast as I could.  The ending was a shocker that I never say coming!  My jaw literary dropped!  Talk about a cliffhanger!  I'm desperate to get my hands on the next book, and continue Calla's story!

I love how Ms. Morgan's mind works.  The way she is able to build a world rich with imagination, set up complex puzzles to be solved, and likable characters that are fun, entertaining, and beautifully crafted is truly a gift to her readers.

My Rating:

A Faerie's Secret is another excellent addition to the Creepy Hollow Series!  If you enjoy Y.A. Fantasy, you must read this series!  It has continued to be a favorite of mine every since I read, The Faerie Guardian, the first book in the series!  I give, A Faerie's Secret, by Rachel Morgan, 4.5 Adventurous, Suspenseful, Mysterious, Magical Stars!!!

About Rachel Morgan:

Rachel Morgan was born in South Africa and spent a large portion of her childhood living in a fantasy land of her own making. After completing a degree in genetics, she decided science wasn’t for her—after all, they didn’t approve of made-up facts. These days she spends much of her time immersed in fantasy land once more, writing fiction for young adults. When she isn't writing, she's reading (duh!), catching up on addictive TV series, and baking things that almost always include chocolate.
