GR's Summary:
A need colder than Siberian winter meets an attitude hotter than the Florida sun in #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole’s sultry new Game Maker novel.
Everyone fears the Master…
Rich, irresistible politician/Mafiya boss Maksimilian Sevastyan prefers tall, obedient blondes to fulfill his…complicated desires. That is, until the icy Russian encounters a disobedient brunette whose exquisite little body threatens his legendary restraint.
Except her.
Catarina Marín was a well-off young wife until her world fell apart. Now she’s hiding out, forced to start working as an escort in Miami. Her very first client is beyond gorgeous, but when he tells her what he plans to do to her, Cat almost walks out of the door.
If pleasure is a game, play to win.
After their mind-blowing encounter burns out of control, the lovers crave more. If they escape the deadly threats surrounding them, can Maksim overcome his past—to offer Cat his future? Only then will she tempt him with what he really wants: her, all tied up with a bow.

My Thoughts:
The Game Maker Series is part of the upper echelon when it comes to steamy, sensual, and invigorating erotica. If you are looking for a naughty escape in to the under world of BDSM, the Russian Mafiya, and where the powerful, wealthy, and dangerous make their own rules, you need to read this series. In The Professional, we got the oldest Sevastyan brother, a Mafiya enforcer, Aleksei's story. While I enjoyed The Professional, I absolutely LOVED, The Master. In, The Master, we get the middle Sevastyan brother's story, a powerful and wealthy Russian politician with Mafiya ties, Maksimilian's story.
These books can be read as standalone stories, but you get so much more out of reading them in order. The Game Maker Series has been very informative about the world of BDSM. I have learned a lot about this life style, and find it intriguing. The Master was lighter concerning BDSM, than The Professional. These Sevastyn brother's are so intriguing. They are strong, alpha males, but have that vulnerability that makes your heart melt.
Maksimilian had an abusive and traumatic childhood. This has shaped the man that he has become. He cannot stand to be touched, and must be in control sexually. He thrives in the world of BDSM, and has never had an intimate relationship with a woman. Instead, he uses prostitutes to fulfill his sexual needs and has very specific rules for how their experience will play out.
When Maksimilian is on business in Miami Florida, he arranges for a prostitute. He is suppose to get a tall, thin, blond, and instead, a short, petite, cuban brunette shows up at his door. He is very upset by this. Catarina "Cat" is on the run from her con-artist/dangerous husband. She switches locations every six months to hide from the man who took everything from her, and plans to kill her. In desperate need of money, she switches places with her escort friend, to be an escort for the night. When she see's the gorgeous Russian, she is blown away. Cat is a strong, independent, and sassy woman, who is the first person to not give in to Maksimilian or "Maksimo," as she fondly calls him. Cat intrigues him, and once he gets a taste, he craves her. Cat becomes addicted to "Maksimo," but time is running out, and Cat needs to move quick before her deranged husband finds her.
The Master was an alluring, hypnotic, and titillating read. I loved the character growth that "Maksimo" underwent. Cat made this serious, staunch, aloof man, happy. She made him smile, enjoy his life, and brought out such a wonderful side to him. Cat was such a fun and feisty character. Sexually, she lit a match for her "Maksimo," and turned their passion in to a blazing, all-consuming inferno. We got to read about the main and secondary characters from the previous book, and I enjoyed catching up with Aleksei and Natalie. I really want a story on Natalie's best friend, Jessica. She is bawdy, but I appreciate how she always says what's on her mind, is full of comedy and fun times! I'm glad that I got to learn a little bit about the youngest Sevastyan brother, Dmitri, in this segment. He has the most issue's out of all of the brother's, and I would love to meet the woman who is going to turn his life around!
My Rating:
I believe fans of The Fifty Shades of Grey Series, are going to love and devour, The Game Maker Series. Ms. Cole has a way of weaving a spellbinding, sensual and seductive web in a reader's mind. She paints pictures with her words, and you end up feeling like you are in the story with the main characters. I give The Master by Kresley Cole, 5 Provocative, Carnal, Kinky, and Addictive Stars!!!
