GR's Summary:

Will their past determine their future?

Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.

Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.

When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

Marked Men Series:
My Review on Rome Here

My Thoughts:

The Marked Men Series, by Jay Crownover, has some of the sexiest leading male characters that I have ever read about.  They are all a distinct, and unique group of guys, but what links them together is their loyalty to one another, and the beautiful and strong friendship that they share.  Each story can be read as a standalone, and is each guys individual story, yet all of the guys are in each other's stories.  We are lucky to get the dual perspectives of both the male and female leads in each segment, which makes for a very in depth story.  I loved Rule and Shaw's story.  Rule is the rebellious one in the group, and Shaw was the girl that was in love with him her whole life.  I adored Jet and Ayden's story.  Jet was the hot, handsome, and up and coming rockstar, and Ayden, (Shaw's best friend,) was the girl with a secret past.  I fell head over heels when I read Rome and Cora's story.  Rome (Rule's older brother,) was a brave, and protective, ex-army Special Ops Officer, and he fell in love with Cora, a feisty, bossy, and loyal "pixie" who ran Marked, a tattoo shop where most of the guys work.

In Nash, we get another great addition to the Marked Men Series.  Nash is Rule's best friend, and he is the most mellow, and level headed guy in the group.  However, he has a lot of demon's from his past.  His mother married, and wealthy, upper class man, and chose him over her own son.  Since Nash was a child, he was unwanted, looked down upon, and treated badly by his mother and stepfather.  He was told that his father took off when he was a baby and didn't want anything to do with him.  The only person that made him feel worthy of love was his uncle (Owner of the tattoo shop, and surrogate father to all of the guys,) who he went to live with when he was a teenager.  When Nash finds out that his uncle is dying of Lung Cancer, and his mother has been lying to him for years, his whole world is turned upside down.

Saint, is a beautiful, shy, E.R, nurse with beautiful red hair, and storm gray eyes.  She caught Nash's attention when Rome went to the emergency room, and couldn't understand why she gave him the cold shoulder.  Now, she is his uncle's nurse, and there is something about her that he is drawn too.  Little does he know that Saint had a huge crush on him in high school, and he broke her heart.  Saint looks a lot different than she used to look in high school.  She used to be over weight, have an acne problem, and was a total nerd.  She had very low self esteem when she was younger, and unfortunately, still does.  She has sworn off men after Nash hurt her, she got cheated on by an old boyfriend, and her father left her mother for a younger woman.  She has thrown herself in to her work, because she has been very unsuccessful in both dating and having good sex.  When she see's Nash, she is still attracted to him, but is determined to push her away.  Nash, on the other hand, is determined to show Saint that he has changed, and she is the only woman that he wants.

I adored Nash in this story.  I got to see many sides to his personality.  He was vulnerable, emotional, tender, and romantic.  He was also patient, persistent, and loyal to those he loved.  Ms. Crownover gave me great visualizations, and I could see Nash, his detailed tattoo work, and piercings vividly.  I felt the strength of the connection between Nash and Saint.  It was like they were opposed ends of a magnet that couldn't stay apart.  Saint drove me a little crazy in this story.  She was such a sweet and caring individual, but the way she let her insecurities get in between the relationship that she had with Nash frustrated me.  Nash was amazing, and I wanted her to realie that he would never do her wrong!  These two had many swoon-worthy and sexy scenes in this story, as well as sweet, romantic, and emotional ones!  There story was steamy and beautiful.

Of course I was overjoyed to get a lot of Rule, Shaw, Jet, Ayden, Rome, Cora, Rowdy, and Asa.  I love these characters, and they mean a lot to me!  I loved getting to witness Rule and Shaw's wedding, as well as Cora and Rome's baby being born.  We also got to meet a couple of new characters.  Royal was a beautiful, and sweet cop, and Nash's neighbor.  I'm hoping that we continue to learn about her in future segments of the series!  I think she might make a good match for Asa (Ayden's brother)!!!  My curiosity got piqued when we were introduced to Salem, a beautiful Latina, that dresses in the rockabilly style, and evidently has a thing for Rowdy, our James Dean look-alike!!!!  I can't wait for their story, and know it's going to be great, since I have enjoyed every book in this series!

My Rating:

I give, Nash, by Jay Crownover, 4 Sexy, Warm, Loyal Friendship Filled, "I Love this Series" Stars!!!  If you enjoy new adult, contemporary romance, the Marked Men Series is one of my absolute favorites!

My Favorite Quotes:

"Ten minutes was your idea, Nash, I'm willing to give you all night."

~Saint

"People change.  Time makes us grow.  Life happens, good and bad, and it's the person you love, the man inside you can't live without, not the sum of what he did or didn't do when he was younger and still figuring life out."

~Shaw

"All I can see is you.  Why can't you understand that?  No one shines as bright as you in the sky I'm looking at.  To me there is no sun, no moon, and no stars in the sky, just endless miles of storm clouds and pretty, pretty gray."

~Nash

About Jay Crownover:

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
