Sweet Mother of God!!!! This book was absolutely P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L!!!!
Within the first few pages of reading Come To Me Quietly I knew that this book was going to captivate me until the very last page. I read this book non-stop! I forgot about cleaning, cooking and I even forgot to eat supper with my husband (Sorry, Baby! I love you!) From the moment I read the Prologue, Aly and Jared grabbed a hold of me and never let me go. I am suffering from a HUGE book hangover at the moment. My friends that don't read often ask me ... What makes a 5 stars book for you? I always answer: I don't only want to read the story, I want to FEEL it! And, this is exactly what Come To Me Quietly did. I felt every single powerful emotion between Aly and Jared. This was my first time reading a A.L. Jackson book and after finishing CTMQ I made sure to bump up her other books on my TBR list. I see many books hangovers in my near future! ;)
In Come To Me Quietly we follow the emotional and breathtaking story of Aleena Moore and Jared Holt. Jared lives his life in a state of numbness. The haunting memories of what happened six years ago don't let him live in peace. He is covered in his sins and this is a reminder that he does not deserve to be happy. No attachments, no feelings this is how he lives his life until one day, he decides to go back to his hometown and a pair of mesmerizing green eyes make him feel everything he never wanted to feel again. Aleena has been in love with her brother's best friend since childhood. They were inseparable. Until tragedy strikes and Jared leaves town and her fourteen years old heart is left broken. When her brother Christopher calls her and announces that Jared is back in town and that he will be staying with them, she is overwhelmed with emotions. One look is all it takes to steal her breath away. When Aleena tries to reconnect with Jared, he pushes her away. But, the more he pushes her away the more she wants to comfort him and let him know that she will always be there for him. As the days go by, their friendship grows into an all consuming love story, but demons from Jared's past won't allow him to love. Everything he touches, he destroys. Aleena will do everything in her power to bring back HER Jared.
I devoured this book!!! I was breathing in every single word, page and chapter. A.L. Jackson's writing style is PERFECTION! I can't believe I waited this long to discover this amazing author! The story was told from a dual POV. The storyline was very well developed and I found that the flashbacks of Jared and Aly's past gave another level of depth to the story. I could see why Jared was reacting the way he did and I could feel that the love that Aly has for Jared is pure, real and eternal. I often mention that I need to connect with the main characters to feel their love and I absolutely did with Jared and Aly. Their friendship was beautiful and their love was even more breathtaking! Their relationship is slow building. I loved that I got to see them grow has individuals and has a couple. Their special moments shared in Aly's room were intense and eye-opening on the undeniable connection that they have. Aly is the kind of heroine I love to root for! She is sweet, confident and most of all determined. She saw the pain in Jared's eyes and she did everything to make him feel again. Jared ... Where do I start with Jared?! Wow! What a broken tortured hero! I connected with Aly completely, but Jared?! Holy Moly!!! He absolutely stole my heart! My heart was breaking for the guilt he was living with. What happened to him is gut-wrenching! He had so much anger and pain accumulated. He sets up these unbreakable walls around him and Aly's love is strong enough to break them. He lets her in and he gives their love a chance.
With a few pages left to the book my heart was beating fast! I knew that there was a book two in this series, but I really was crossing my fingers that the book did not end with a cliffhanger. It does not. Phew!!! Come To Me Softly will be the next installment in the Closer to You series and I can't wait to reunite with Aly and Jared again. They are now on my Top Favorite Couple list. Prepare the tissues for this one. I had to reach for my box more than once :( At the end of this journey, their story left me with a happy heart. I don't often do this, but I totally hugged my paperback when I finished reading their story. It was that AMAZING!!!!

I give, Come To Me Quietly, by A.L. Jackson 5 passionate, breathtaking, intoxicating, heart-rending, outstanding stars! I am anxiously waiting for Come To Me Softly. I know that there is a long journey ahead for Aly and Jared, but their bond is strong and I am positive that A.L. Jackson will deliver another fantastic book! Add these books to your TRB list ASAP!!! You don't want to miss Aly and Jared's story ;)

About the Author:
