Synopsis:
According to Hayley love is a subject of ridicule, a myth created by hopeless romantics.
When Hayley makes a resolution to declare her loose lifestyle era R.I.P, it’s all good in theory…
That is until she meets Daniel Stark, a well-respected, mid-thirties business man who is known for his short temper, lack of steady relationships as well as his strict preserve of his private life.
Opinionated, sharp tongued Hayley accidently steps into his office leaving Daniel resolved to put Hayley in her place and have her in his bed.
Both Hayley and Daniel can’t avoid the immediate instigation of the attraction between them.
In a unanimously agreed upon verdict by Hayley and her two best friends, Ian the gay self-absorb, aspiring model and Natasha the witty, borderline neurotic soul mate, Daniel Stark is to be Hayley’s pure physical attraction, emotions aside era closure.
Will it indeed be a closure, or a beginning to something neither Hayley nor Daniel ever bargained for…

Stark Series
Layers (Stark, #1)
Inner Core (Stark, #2)
My Review:
The first installment in the Stark Series, Layers, by Sigal Ehrlich was an awesome read! This book was intense, emotional, fast-paced with a touch of humour.
In Layers, we follow Daniel and Hayley's story. After she lost a bet to her friend Tasha, Hayley is forced to attend a guided visit of Stark Software Technologies. She is not 100% commited to the visit and decides to take a coffee break. A girl needs her caffeine, right? ;) Hayley does not go looking for a cafeteria, nooooo! Miss H decides to make a coffee in the CEO's private kitchen. When she comes face-to-face with Daniel in the kitchen, it takes two words out of her mouth to activate Mr. Stark's seduction mode. After this encounter, Daniel is fascinated with Hayley and decides to take every opportunity he gets to cross her path. Tension runs high when Hayley discovers that the employee she met in the kitchen is Mr. Daniel Stark himself. Daniel and Hayley don't do relationships. When the chemistry between them is too much to handle, they both give in to a no strings attached fling. The problem is ... love comes knocking on the door unexpectedly.
I really liked this story. The writing style is easy to follow and kept me turning the pages until the very end. Daniel and Hayley have great chemistry together, the banter between them is amazing and Hayley's inner monologue was divine! I LOL a couple of times with Miss H. ;) Daniel is a very difficult character to follow. OMG! The mood swings that Mr. Stark has?!?!? Holy Crapola! Poor Hayley! The mixed messages he was sending her were heartbreaking! Hayley was right to call him a psycho a couple of times. This man is a really lovable psycho! Does that even make sense?! He was driving me nuts, but I still loved him. I've been Danielized! Yes! I fell for him <3 I loved discovering each and every one of his Layers. And, trust me ... he has a lot of Layers! This is a series so we will be getting other books, which is a good thing because Layers ended with a Nooooooo! I need the other book now!!! cliffhanger. I can't wait to read Inner Core to follow the rest of Hayley and Daniel's story. I really connected with all the characters and I especially loved Tasha and Ian, Hayley's best friends. They are so much fun!!
My Rating:
I give, Layers, by Sigal Ehrlich 4 intense, passionate, amusing, wonderful stars! Awesome debut novel by Sigal Ehrlich! I loved the last chapter in Daniel's POV. I hope we get to read more of his POV in Inner Core ;)
