Synopsis:
Ex-ballerina Ellie Bell has twenty-four days left until her self-imposed man-less year is up. No more falling for the wrong kind of guy—charming, sexy, bad. Why can’t she find someone sweet like Charlie Johansson, her soldier pen pal? His e-mails meant the world to her, and she can’t stop thinking about him…until she meets Hunter, whose muscles and cocky smile threaten to have her relapsing.
Before Charlie “Big Game Hunter” Johansson’s last tour of duty, he’d gone through women like crazy. But after connecting on a real, emotional level via letters with his best friend’s sister, Charlie’s ready for a relationship—with Ellie Bell. But then her brother introduces him as Hunter. Proving he’s no longer a player by becoming Ellie’s dance partner for an Army benefit seems like it could convince both siblings he’s changed, but the harder he falls for Ellie, the harder it is to come clean. Can he convince her to fall for the real him before it’s too late?

My Review:
Oh my Squeeee!
Falling For Her Soldier by Ophelia London was like a breath of fresh air! I loved every single page of this book and absolutely fell in love with Ellie and Charlie.
Can you have feelings for somebody you have never actually met in person? If you ask Ellie, her answer would be YES! Ellie has the worst of luck with her relationships. She needs to stay away from bad boys and heartbreakers. She even decided to impose a man-less year challenge on herself. With only a few days left to this challenge, she is confident that she will accomplish her goal. What she never expected was for Charlie to come turning her life upside down. Charlie is the person who saved her brother, Sam, while in Afghanistan. They started sending each other emails without Sam's knowledge and Ellie has developed strong feelings for Charlie. When he stops writing, she's heartbroken. Ellie is very close with her brother Sam and spends time with him at the Warrior Station. During one of her visits she meets Hunter, Sam's friend. She has heard about his reputation with the ladies and he's exactly the kind of guy she needs to stay away from. What she doesn't know is that Hunter is her Charlie. From the moment he meets Ellie, she takes his breath away. Charlie knows that he should just walk away and not get involved with his best friend's sister. Her emails have been a source of comfort when he most needed it and he can't forget about her. When Ellie and Hunter see that the WS might close because of financial problems, they join forces to save this special place, which is like a second home to many soldiers. The more time they spend together, the more they fall for each other. The only problem standing between their love? Charlie's secret ...
This book was an unexpected surprise. It's my first time reading a book by Ophelia London, and it won't be my last! Her writing style is captivating, her characters are all charming and the storyline kept me turning the pages. I loved it so much that I read it in one sitting! I have to be honest ... I was mad at Charlie!! I was screaming at him to come forward with his secret. He had so many chances to do so, and my heart broke for Ellie when she found out who he was. The girl fell hard!!!! And, so did I!!!
Even if the story was fairly predictable, I connected with the characters and I loved how the story played out at the end. Ellie and Charlie's love story left me with a huge smile on my face. Their chemistry was amazing and the banter between them was funny and entertaining. I also loved that all the second characters in the story were very charming. Tess, Jack, Mackenzie, Rick, Sam and Jane are all characters that I loved reading about. I actually bought Playing at Love and Speaking of Love when I finished reading Falling For Her Soldier. These characters were so addictive that I wanted to read about their HEA. Even if this is a series, this book can be read as a standalone. I don't know if there are any plans in the near future for Sam and Jane, but I would love to see these two characters each get their own book ;)
My Rating:
I give, Falling For Her Soldier, by Ophelia London 4.5 romantic, flirtatious, heartwarming, tender, enchanting stars! I highly recommend FFHS to anybody who enjoys a fast-paced romantic story with addictive characters. Excellent work by Ophelia London!
