GR's Summary

Kate has given up on love—at least for herself. She is both blessed and cursed with the ability to sense a romantic connection between two people—a gift that her family passed down for generations. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success.

But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. Slade puts himself in her hands and asks Kate to find him love. Enraged at his arrogance but stubbornly eager to prove herself, Kate agrees, dedicating herself to the journey of finding him love...only to find herself falling for him along the way.

Searching For Series:

My Thoughts:

Jennifer Probst is such a great adult contemporary romance author.  I discovered her when I read, The Marriage Bargain, which I really loved.  Then, one by one I devoured the Marriage to a Billionaire Series, and Ms. Probst became a part of my auto-buy author list! I was really sad when that series came to an end, but then I heard about the Searching Series, and the fact that it was a spinoff of the Marriage to a Billionaire Series, made me become really excited!  I had no idea what to expect, but my hopes were high, and I anticipated being reunited with some of my favorite fictional characters.

Searching for Someday is about Kate and Slade.  Kate owns her own business, Kinnections, a matchmaking company, with her good friends, Kennedy, and Arilyn.  The three work interdependently by contributing to the success of their company through their unique talents.  Kate is the business woman, Kennedy the social events coordinator, and Arilyn is in charge of counseling.  Kate has a "magic touch" that has run in her family for generations.  She has the ability to tell through touch if two people are a perfect match. However, the only people that know about her special ability are her family, Kennedy, Arilyn, and her best friend, Gen.  Kate likes to use more scientific means when matchmaking, yet often uses the touch to confirm if two people are right for one another. Unfortunately, Kate can't find a connection for herself.  The sad thing is, many times, when she goes on dates, she ends up matchmaking them up with other people.

Slade is a wealthy, sophisticated, witty, and successful divorce lawyer.  He is jaded, and believes that love is a fairytale that doesn't really exist.  He doesn't have any family, besides his younger sister, Jane, who he is very close to, and protective of.  When Jane moves out of his apartment, and lets him know that she is paying a matchmaking company to find her love, Slade is not happy.  For one, he thinks that Kinnections is a company run by con artists who take people's money by promising them something that doesn't exist.  He tries to convince his sister to not participate in the matchmaking process, because he is scared that she will get her heart broken, and that she is emotionally fragile.  Jane refuses to listen to Slade, and tells him to stay out of her business.  So, Slade ends up enrolling in to the matchmaking program with the plan to prove that the company is not legitimate.

Instead, he discovers an intense and magnetic attraction with Kate.  However, Kate is looking for love, while Slade is just looking for companionship.  Kate is innocent, and optimistic, while Slade is experienced and jaded.  These two want different things, and have different beliefs.  However, the more time they spend together, the more trouble they have denying the chemistry that's between them.  Eventually, these two come to an impasse, and denying fate can only bring about negative consequences that neither of them realize.

Searching For Someday started off slow for me, but then it picked up and the story completely took off!  The sexual chemistry between Kate and Slade was beyond steamy, and when those two were joined together, I felt the electric shocks!  The explicit love scenes felt very real, and they were hot!  I love how Ms. Probst developed the relationship nice and slow and realistically between Kate and Slade.  These two had great banter, and so much passion!  It didn't matter if they were arguing or making out, they did it with complete intensity.  I loved how there was never a dull moment when Slade and Kate were together.  It didm't matter what they were doing, they were always so aware of one another.  The slow burn, and build up of anticipation, made the two of them coming together so much more explosive. I enjoyed meeting all of the secondary characters as well.  We get a really good introduction, and a bit of a feel for who Kennedy, Airilyn, and Gen are as characters.  I loved the interactions between Kate and her friends.  They all had distinct and authentic personalities.  Gen, is one of Alexa's (from The Marriage Bargain) sister's, and I loved when I got reunited with Alexa, Nick, Maggie, Michael, Carina, Max, Wolfe, and the children.  One thing is for certain, I am looking forward to continuing the Searching Series, and can't wait to see what happens next.

My Rating:

Searching For Someday was filled with magic, fate, intensity, friendship, humor, tender moments, and sexy times!  I loved being introduced to a new set of characters, but also getting glimpses of the characters that I missed so much from the Marriage to a Billionaire Series.  I am excited to read Kennedy's story next, and can't wait to read Arilyn's story as well.   However, the story that I want to read the most is Gen's (Kate's best friend.)  I need more Wolfe, and it's obvious to me that he is in love with Gen.  I'm hoping that Gen opens her eyes, and ends up with him.  Please Ms. Probst, give us Gen and Wolfe's story!  I give Searching For Someday, by Jennifer Probst, 4 Magical, Steamy, Hopeful, Warm, Fate Filled Stars!

My Favorite Quotes:

"He ached to kiss her, glean if her lips really tasted like the cotton candy he adored, and put to rest some of the crackling sexual tension.  Instead, he'd been electrocuted and shredded to pieces by a clawing hunger to have her. Mate, claim, posses.  It was as if his inner caveman sprang to life and he'd sunk to an animal instinct.  Her taste was like pure sugar, and once he got a sample he was afraid he'd be addicted.  He expected teasing, warm, and satisfying.  He got hot sex and pure need."  (eARC, Loc. 846)

" 'The possibility of love is worth everything Mr. Montgomery.  Pain, heartbreak, grief.  It is the only thing worthwhile to fight for in this life.  And though there are never any promises, if one is true and brave enough to give, there will never be regret.' "  (eARC, Loc. 3366)

Ro's Take on this Journey:

Searching for Someday, (Love Spells#1) by Jennifer Probst is a spinoff of her (Marriage to a Billionaire Series.)  As usual, Ms. Probst is on top of her game.  In this series, we are brought together with the unforgettable, Kate Seymour.  She is beautiful, funny, witty, giving, and insecure about her ability to keep a man.  Kate was one in a generation of women in her family with an ability to touch someone and know whether or not they are suited for the other.  The magic touch she can also use herself to find her true soul mate.  The story begins where Kate is on date #100, when she finally reaches out to touch her date, and realizes that he and the waiter are suited for each other.  This makes her so upset that she decides to concentrate on her work at Kinnections, her business she co-owns with her two best friends, (Kennedy and Arilyn) and her paraplegic dog, Robert, that she is devoted to.  Kate is filled with so much pain and loneliness.  She feels that no man feels she is worthy of his love.  Kate has had a past filled with hurt and humiliation, and is very insecure about herself when it comes to me, but very assertive in her work life.

Slade Montgomery is the top divorce Lawyer in the state.  He lost his parents in an accident, and took full responsibility for his sister, Jane.  Slade is rich, living in an uptown apartment, "mancave" in Tribeca.  It has all the trappings a man could want, including the luxuries a woman would desire, including his jungle-green eyes.  There is only one problem with Slade.  He is divorced because his wife cheated on him, and so he no longer believes in love that lasts forever.  His sister Jane decides to move out of his apartment, and start on her own in Verily.  Slade thinks that his sister is very fragile, because of a near catastrophic incident that could have ended her life.  She is ready to spread her wings, and get out from under her big brother's obsessively, possessive watchful eyes.  Slade walks through life without realizing that he is not living, and he wants to control everything.  He is very structured, and avoids situations in which there is any chance of ever being hurt again.

Kate and Slade are thrown together when Jane decides to go to Kinnections to find her love mate.  Slade is so outdone, he goes into the office in with his unbridled anger wanting answers as to why these people are taking his sister for a ride.  Kate makes a deal with the devil to find his soul mate to prove that their company is legitimate.  This begins a whirlwind of situations, comedy, fun, hurt, and a trifecta of yummy, sizzling, torturous foreplay.  Ms. Probst is on point with the ravenous Slade, and the virginal Kate.  Together they become a combustible couple that are so complicated, you never know what will happen next.  The "Eye Candy, Panty Dropping, Counselor Slade, will have you panting for more.  The story takes the reader through many obstacles, heartbreak, tenderness, and contradictions.  In the end, the reader will be so happy and satisfied. The electricity that envelops them the second they kiss will leave you mesmerized.
The primary and secondary characters grew in this story, they were wonderfully written into existence.  I loved Kates' mom.  She was a throwback hippy, who put her foot in her mouth at the wrong time!  She was a sex counselor that was funny and outspoken.  I loved that Ms. Probst brought her readers back together with her characters from her Marriage to a Billionaire Series.  It was wonderful to have all the characters together in a family setting.  I enjoyed this book immensely, and can't wait for the next story on her best friend, and co-owner of connections, Kennedy.

I give, Searching for Someday, by Jennifer Probst, 4 Sultry, Smooth, Bantering, Soul-Searching, Turn up the Heat Stars!!!

My Favorite Quotes:

"Foreplay is nice, but you're missing out on the culinary event.  You just got a bunch of yummy appetizers but no prime rib dinner.  Are you hungry?  What's up with all these clever food analogies?'  Kate asked.  Stupid diet. I'm getting crankier by the minute."  (Kindle-Loc-528)   ~Kate

"I'm not built for forever.  At least, not with someone who thinks love is a fairy tale and we'll live happily ever after.  You haven't seen the things I have, the truth of what so-called love does to people.  There is no forever!"  (Kindle-Loc-2410)  ~Slade

"I'm not looking for forever.  But I am looking for someday.  I think I deserve that."  (Kindle-Loc-2416)  ~Kate

"I love you Kate Seymour.  I think I loved you the moment you electrocuted me and told me to go away.  The only question left is, will you give me a chance?"  (Kindle-Loc-3407)  ~Slade

"They melted into one another, surrendering as soul mates.  'no more trying to match me with other women?' he murmured, kissing her cheeks and burying his fingers in her hair.  'You finally met your match, counselor."  (Kindle-Loc-3411)
