Synopsis:
Graduate student
Autumn McShane has had her share of heartbreak. She’s been abandoned and
betrayed and she lost her beloved mother in a tragic car accident five months
ago. That loss damaged her body and fractured her spirit but she’s learning to
recover, until her ex-boyfriend returns to town, intent on making her life
miserable.
Declan Fraser
hates her ex as much as Autumn does, but the last thing she needs is to put her
trust in the hands of another man, especially one like Declan: his hard body
and lulling Irish accent makes more than few girls weak-kneed. The talented
rugby player is rude and sarcastic, with tattooed, muscular arms and a cocky
attitude, but he's the only one who can help Autumn win an ill-advised bet
that, if lost, could cost her more than she's willing to pay. The reluctant
alliance between Declan and Autumn stirs up cravings she doesn't want to admit,
but Declan is a hard man to resist.
Just when Autumn
starts letting down her carefully constructed walls to the sexy bad boy, he
betrays her when she needs him most. Autumn suspects Declan has secrets, and
she is determined to uncover what drove him away from her, even if that means
fraternizing with the enemy. But will the truth return Declan to her arms or
add to the scars on her heart?

My Review:
Ohhhhhhh Sweet Jaysus! *Said in my best Irish Accent* :P
Chasing Serenity by Eden Butler was an AMAZING read! The first thing that caught my attention is of course the beautiful book cover. I LOVED this book! The writing style was captivating, the main characters intoxicating and the storyline pulled me in from the very beginning!
Autumn was once a very happy person. When tragedy strikes, she's left heartbroken and numb. She tries to go on with the help of her friends and the only person she can call ''Family'', Ava, her mom's best friend. When her ex-boyfriend, Tucker and a person she never wanted to see again come back in her life, her world his turned upside down. What she never expected was for Declan Fraser to ROCK her world. Autumn is fighting her attraction to Delcan while trying to keep Tucker away from her new life. She does not want to get involved into a relationship after what happened with her ex-boyfriend.
Okie dokie! Where do I start? Autumn Mc Shane ...*Ahem* I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Autumn. Let me explain. Her character pulled me in from the very beginning. She is everything I look for in a leading female character, except that she got me agitated a few times ... I actually was screaming at my kindle (In hope that she would listen to me? I know i'm nuts, but I really get invested in the story ... LOL!) One minute she has me cheering for her and the other I'm virtually shacking her! Girl!!!! What's wrong with you??? Let go of the past and start fresh, everybody makes mistakes! Don't get me wrong, she's been through a lot and she is completely broken, but at some moments I wish she would have been more understanting with the people around her. I did love her most of the time especially when she played hard to get. She made Declan go BANANAS!
Declan Fraser ... Whoaaaaaaa!! *Swoon* This Irish Bad Boy completely stole the show! What a surprise! I love reading about Bad Boys, but Declan is not only a tease, he's sexy, adorable, cocky and most of all he swept me off my feet when he showed me his most vulnerable side. Under all those muscles, I found a beautiful heart! Don't even get me started on his sexy Irish accent! Oh.my.God!!! And, the way he calls Autumn ... Every time he would say ''Mc Shane'' I would turn into complete MUSH! And, that sexy smirk? Waaaah! Book Boyfriend material over here!!!
These two have sizzling chemistry. Autumn was really fighting it, but who are we kidding here?? Declan is IRRESISTABLE!!! He just has that spark that pulls you in.
A dark secret from Declan's past comes back to haunt him and when I found out what he was hiding I was like '' Are you kidding me? How could you?? Noooo!!! OMG!!! I was in total shock! I did not see that one coming ... Eeeeeep! Emotional roller-coaster!!!!
Sayo, Layla, Mollie, Joe and Ava are all characters that I loved! They all played an important role in the story. I really hope that Autumn's friends all get their own book :)
My Rating:

About the Author
Eden
Butler is an editor and writer of New Adult Romance and SciFi and Fantasy
novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English
pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum. Her debut
novel, a New Adult, Contemporary (no cliffie) Romance, “Chasing Serenity” will
launch October 2013.
When
she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor,
thinking up impossible plots, Eden edits, reads and spends way too much time
watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.
