GR's Summary:
No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.
Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.
But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again.
Now the only person who can truly help her can barely help himself.
**This is a New Adult book recommended for readers 18 and up**

My Take on this Journey
Lily Calloway and Loren (Lo) Hale were two college students that knew each other, and had been best friends, since childhood. They were both from families of status and prestige. Both families were billionaires, and reputation was everything for these socialites. Lily and Loren decide to move in together in college and fake a romantic 3 year relationship, to keep their parents off their backs, and cover for one an others addictions. This novel was told from Lily's perspective, and was very realistic.
The reader is able to see straight into the mind of this incredibly confused, and shame-filled young girl. Lily and Loren lived a life of lies. One built on top of another, until there were so many they didn't know where the lies ended and the truth began. Lily came from a loving family that demanded perfection on every level, with zero tolerance for imperfections. Lily had a sexual addiction that she couldn't control, and Lo was a raging alcoholic since he was a teenager. His abusive, alcoholic father was heartless and cruel, and Lo had been without a mother for a very long time. He lived his life shrouded in dysfunction. The facade shared by these two characters was hidden down to a science. They both were emotionally dependent on each other, and enabled each other at every turn imaginable. This is a highly intense, disturbing portrayal of addiction, secrets, and mounting lies. Though Lily' s family was loving, the relationship was jeopardized by Lily' s need for her sexual exploits, and she lost all sense of togetherness, and loyalty she once cherished. Fraternity lane became Lily' s hang out for her improprieties, and "The walk of shame," was one major recurring theme that Lo saved her from repeatedly. Lily returned the same favour when Lo was incoherent, and drunk out of his mind. L0 and Lily were very loving, caring, and tender with one another. These two finally realized their feelings for each other ran deeper than they had allowed themselves to think of. Though, at that point, there were many obstacles, secrets, ups, downs, and lows that leave the reader exhausted!
This novel is raw at the deepest level. It is full of primal energy, intensity, angst, and fear. It's filled with lust, love, addiction, and emotionally charged!!! The lives of these characters, full of addiction, secrets, lack of boundaries, dependency, and enabling, is a Tsunami ready to hit land. The reader can see it coming from a mile away!
The prose kept the novel flowing. The characters, in Addicted to You, both primary and secondary, were well developed. Addicted to You, feels true to life, and a totally disturbing story, that will leave it's readers exhausted by the time the last page is turned.
The two Ritchie' s have done a phenomenal job portraying two very taboo subjects.
I give Addicted to You, by Becca, and Krista Richie 5 Shame Filled, Erratic, Devastatingly Powerless, Lost, Raw, Intense Stars!
