"One hand cupped my cheek, the other warm on the small of my back.  Dark black night pushed away the sky blue of his eyes.  I lifted my lips that last half-inch between us and pressed them against his.  For a heartbeat, the kiss was soft and tender, newly born.  I could feel his heartbeat under my hand, could feel my pulse leaping in my throat.  I opened my eyes to feel Ryan gazing at me with the heat of blue flames.  Then he groaned, the sound ragged with need, and deepened the kiss.  His hand curled around my waist, pulling me flush against his body.  Every soft curve of mine matched up with hard strength.  I sighed into his mouth, heady with longing."  (EARC LOC, 2486)
