What is your favorite setting to read in books? 

 Why?

I enjoy reading about books that take place in college.  I enjoy reading about the whole "college" experience, and what takes place during the college years.  This is a time in life where people are discovering who they are, their potential, realizing their dreams, and working hard to make them come true.  Also, this is a fun time filled with learning new things, meeting new friends, (and a possible significant other,) attending parties, school functions, social functions, and discovering the world!  When you start college, the possibilities are endless, and it's a time in your life when you are finally an adult, and can take control of your life.  You're not stuck with your parents controlling your life (like in high school,) and the typical college student is not usually stuck with a 9-5 job/career, mortgage bill, multiple living expenses, and responsibilities.  To me, it is the best time in life, and also my favorite to read about.  Hence, why I love reading New Adult books, and the college setting!  Here are some of my favorite books that take place in a college setting:

My favorite setting in a book stems from my favorite topic...ANGELS!! ;)  Therefore, it's only natural that my favorite setting is Heaven.  I’ve read lots of books about Angels and you would be surprised to hear that they didn’t all have a Heaven setting, so I want to extend this to the stars or the afterlife. :)  Some would think Heaven is all the same, but in the different stories I’ve read, the layout has been different.  My FAVORITE description of Heaven comes from Rapture, by Lauren Kate.  I literally felt like I had wings and was surrounded by peace and joyful chanting.  A-MAZE-ING!!!  Why?  Well, I LOVE ANGELS!  So duh!  Other reasons are curiosity, and I imagine it as the most beautiful, serene, joyous place.  Why wouldn’t it be my favorite setting? ;)

Heaven is my favorite place to imagine, that's why I LOVE seeing it in the books I read.  It's my perfect Bookish Escape.

My favorite setting is the Beach!  I love the laid-back, spend the day getting a suntan, water skiing, nights by the bonfire making smores, type of setting.  I think that is why I loved the Sea Breeze Series, and Falling too Far, by Abbi Glines so much.  I love the idea of living on, or by the beach, looking off the balcony at the beautiful sunsets, the scenery, watching the waves rush in, and sinking my feet in the deep sand.  The scenes between Jax and Sadie, in The Sea Breeze Series were sizzling.   The love scenes with Blair and Rush, and their amazing love story, were great, and  I loved the description of his Beach house leading down to the beach. The bonfire setting, where everyone is just hanging out having a good time was amazing  too!  I love the casual setting altogether. In the Moreno Brothers Series, by Elizabeth Reyes, I loved the scenes with walks on the beach, leading to a secret place, a cave, with Sophie and Eric, making love, while listening to the waves crashing on the shore. In the Avoiding Series, by K.A. Linde, series, I thought the book was full of great love scenes by the beach with Jack and Lexi.  Boy, can these authors make a reader visualize, and feel every bit of their love scenes!   All these authors did a great job for me!!!  Growing up a California girl, I spent my summers at the beach, hanging out, water skiing, having fun till the sun came down, having bonfires, roasting marshmallows, telling scary stories, horseback riding on the beach, riding the sea dunes, and boogie boarding.  Life is a blast when you're finding your center, and riding the waves.   In my eyes, these days, there's nothing better than a day at the beach, relaxing with my husband, having a kick-back day reading my book, suntanning, and watching my son play beach volleyball, and gazing at my granddaughter, Bella, playing with her toys in the sand.
