Gr’s Summary
Professor Gabriel Emerson has embarked on a passionate, yet clandestine affair with his former student, Julia Mitchell. Sequestered on a romantic holiday in Italy, he tutors her in the sensual delights of the body and the raptures of sex. But when they return, their happiness is threatened by conspiring students, academic politics, and a jealous ex-lover. When Gabriel is confronted by the university administration, will he succumb to Dante's fate? Or will he fight to keep Julia, his Beatrice, forever? In Gabriel's Rapture, the brilliant sequel to the wildly successful debut novel, Gabriel's Inferno, Sylvain Reynard weaves an exquisite love story that will touch the reader's mind, body, and soul, forever.
The Way I See It
Okay...Wow...Those of you that know me on a personal level, without a doubt know that I’m a positive gal. I love to look up at the sky and notice the sun, and warmth it provides, rather than the clouds, or pollution. Those of you that know me through the blog have a general idea about my positive “takes”... Let me just say this book floored me! I’ve done a lot of reading in my time, but I have yet to find a love story as deep as this one. This is as deep and tragic as those of classic literature. We have a lot of poetic and classic references that are delicious little treats into the minds of these lovely characters. Gabriel’s Rapture not only met my expectations, It cannoned me over the flipping moon! There is this unrelenting essence of purity and love and the way people should treat one and other. It really is inspiring. Gabriel and Julia overcame the demons of their pasts, to accept one and other in Gabriel’s inferno. Now they are faced with an impossible test. I tip my hat to Sylvain Reynard for showing me what love is and all it can overcome. This book made me laugh, cry, gasp, and love. It made me want to throw my Nook and it made my heart swell. Ms. Reynard is truly gifted, and she proves it to us with this one. This love story runs so deep it will inspire you. All of our favorite characters are there, many gaps are filled, debts are paid and broken bonds are mended. This is a Must.Read.Seriously.I’m.In.Love
My Fav’s
Julia
In my review of Gabriel’s inferno I spoke of Julia’s clumsiness teeter-tottering with foolishness, but by the end of the book I knew it was a “highlight” demonstrating her kind, good, gentle soul. Don’t get me wrong here, she still stumbles from time to time but, all and all I’d say...Julia is a “boss”. Lol, she is still pure and innocent. However, know she knows what she deserves, while maintaining all of her wonderful attributes, she accomplishes her goals. Ms. Reynard has a wonderful way of keeping Julia untarnished without overdoing it.
